Hi Jill,
To answer your question, I live in New York State.  Also, you're right in 
thinking that no one in the Special Ed department is a braille reader.  Even 
though my TVI is blind herself, she unfortunately does not run Special Ed.  My 
school is quite small, as I live in a small town called Rhinebeck 100 miles 
north of New York City, and I think there are better conditions in the bigger 
schools; one of my friends who is visually impaired goes to a school in 
Yonkers, and the Special Ed department was able to provide four BrailleNote 
BT's to all its blind students.  Braille has always been very important to me 
because I like to actually read what I'm writing; speech is nice too, but it's 
much faster to see on a braille dispay how something is spelled rather than 
have to listen to it spoken to you letter by letter.  The BN has made my life a 
lot easier, and I'm glad I could acquire one in some way.  Anyway, thanks for
