Hi Richard,

To unzip a .zip file saved in your BN or a storage card,
  1. Enter the File Manager by pressing F from the Main Menu.
2. Press R for the Rename File option.
  3. Select the drive and folder where the .zip file resides, navigate to that
file and hit ENTER.
  4. When asked for a new name to give the file you have two options:
    a. To give it a totally new name, first press BACKSPACE with J to make
sure you're writing in computer Braille. Type a new name with the .bks
extension (the period is dots 4-6) in computer Braille. Tap the ENTER key when
you're done typing.
    b. If you wish to maintain the name of the .zip file, press SPACE with
dots 4-6 to move your cursor to the end of the file name, then type .bks
(that's dots 4-6, b k s) and press ENTER.
  5. You will be asked if you wish to change the extension of the file. Type
Y for yes. Giving it a .bks extension will cause the BrailleNote to see it as
a Bookshare file.
  6. Switch to the Book Reader by pressing ENTER with BACKSPACE with B.
  7. Select the drive and folder where the now .bks file resides. Navigate to
that file and hit ENTER.
  8. You will be asked where you wish to unpack the file. Select a drive and
folder, which may be the same or different from the source drive and folder.
  8. When asked for your password, just press ENTER. Note that if this is
really a Bookshare file, you must enter here your membership password, but
otherwise, not typing anything and just hitting ENTER will do.
  9. You will be asked if you wish to delete the original Bookshare (.bks)
file. I suggest that you do not until you are certain that the unpacked files
are readable. You can delete it later if you want using the Erase File option
in the File Manager.
  10. Keybook will attempt to open the unpacked file. If you have more than
one file in that zip archive, it will open the first one there. If the file is
of a type foreign to Keyword, you will be asked if you wish to review the
previous options. If you wish to maintain the settings for those, just hit
ENTER; otherwise, type Y for yes and go through the options, changing whichever
you wish to change, and when done, press SPACE with E.

Notes:
  i. This utility to unzip .zip files using the Bookshare unpack utility was
not intentionally incorporated by PDI in version 5. It was discovered and
posted here by a BN user, Aman Singer. Therefore, if you encounter problems
with it, please do not complain to PDI or to Aman Singer because it is not
really meant to be a full-blown Keysoft function. Hopefully soon, we will see
a real zip/unzip utility.
ii. This will only work for zip files that used NORMAL compression.
iii. This will not work for zip archives that have folders of files in them,
not just files in the root directory.
iv. This will not work for other compressed files like .rar.
  v. If you get the message "Cannot unpack Bookshare book, error code 202",
move the .bks file to the root directory of the storage card it is in, or to
the Flash Disk if that doesn't work, and try again. If you still get an error
message, then you must use a computer to unzip the file.

As for your second question, Richard, the Winzip link at the BrailleNote
downloads page takes you to www.winzip.com where you can download Winzip, NOT
for the BrailleNote but for the computer.

HTH and thanks for thinking of me,
Roselle
