Yes, thanks for that, all worked fine, and I found the manual on the
website - again I was told by the Sales staff in the UK that they couldn't
let me have a copy of the manual to look through when I asked before
purchasing, so assumed it was only available on the CD or flashcard. Anyway
I have it now. But as for the map data - oh no don't start me on that again.
Just to drive the point home, we had a delivery guy ringing up to check he
had our address right for another package just after I received the GPs
upgrade; 'i'll just check in Autoroute' ah, yes, your house is there' he
said. Not only is our house or village not in the BN maps, neither is where
we used to live in Stretford Manchester (you know, where the English
football club Manchester United comes from?). And that road has been there
since the nineteenth century. And Manchester is, well, a large connurbation.
on, guys, let's get real with this stuff. Jonathan, how about coming over to
the UK for a tour with your GPS and see how well you do finding
restaurants, etc etc, etc.
Now the good news! Pulsedata, to their credit, did say that they would
honour my consumer rights in returning the product if I found it unsuitable.
My wife, always the pragmatist, says that it's worth keeping as we may not
have the money next time and we can give them valuable feedback, and the
more people they have buying the more they will cope with high development
costs.
I will sleep on it.
Sorry again about the rant, but perhaps there should be a different hype
(sorry, publicity) for those living outside the States...
