Hi Guys! I never saw the old case, because I bought my Braille Note in October. The braille Note came in its case. I thought it was very nice of whomever to have put it in there for me. I adjusted the straps. When I carry Braille note, I put the strap over my head, so that I carry the Braille Note on the left and have part of the strap to my right. I hope you can visualize what I'm trying to say. That way my Braille Note can't slip off my shoulder. I sometimes take Braille Note out to wipe it off with a damp cloth to get rid of any dust, and I like to wipe the keys from time to time. I keep my earphones inside that zipper compartment and maybe a disk or two. When I get a compact flash card, I'll see if I want that in there, too. When I go outside with Braille Note, I just put it on and put my heavy winter coat on over it. What do I do with the charger? Oh, well, I usually carry a backpack. At work we have a drugstore, and sometimes I buy things. I hate those plastic things ! that pass for shopping bags these days. If you buy something heavy, that plastic can do a job on your fingers if you have to walk a long way. So I resort to an old college trick and something I learned from camping and backpacking. I carry a backpack and just put all that weight back there. When I travel, I prefer a backpack to a suitcase. That way I can keep it with me on the plane or bus. The charger would just go into my pack. Peggy, if your Braille Note is in that case correctly, it won't fall out. You just open the flap to type information or something and even if that big top is open, it won't fall out. When I'm at a convention, I won't be fully dressed until my Braille Note is on me. I don't know how well the case protects against weather, but I've already told you what I do about that just in case. Hope this helps.
You know what would be a great thing to carry in the case, just in case you want to go online while you're away from home? One of those phone cables. I looked at the jack, just disconnected one end of it from my telephone on the night stand beside my bed and went online with that. I never unwrapped the one Pulsedata provided me. Who knows. Maybe someday I'll want it, so I'll put it in my case. Here's a question for you GPS users. How big is that GPS thidg? Could it fit in a belt with a holster for it with openings to connect with Braille note? How is it controoled? Do you have to press special buttons for it, or does it just work with Braille Note? How many bytes do maps take up in the system?
