Anita, as you may recall when we were working together, the VN is on when
you do a reset.  A plain reset is just pressing that little depressed
button.  When you do the reset with S, D, F, you hold those keys down,
pressing and releasing the reset.  Hold the keys down until you hear the
chimes.
Also, you said you didn't need an area code for the dial up.  Put one in to
see if it makes a difference.  Remember, no dashes.  HTH
