Hello Stacey: There are 1,000 megabytes in a gigabyte. The average floppy disk holds 1.44 megabytes. 1 gigabyte is equivalent to about 694 1.44 floppy disks. Depending on your CD burner's capabilities and age, you can store approximately 600 to 700 megabytes of information on an average CD-R or the equivalent of about 417 to 485 floppy disks worth of information.
