Hi Diane, The Mowat Sensor is a small hand held device used by the blind to detect objects in their path. Whenever the Mowat encounters an object, it emits a series of vibrations. These vibrations can help a blind person locate all kinds of things such as tables, chairs and even doorways. If you've ever heard of the Hand Guide or the Mini Guide, it's very similar except that the Mowat Sensor is no longer made.
