The card inserted message is normal. I inquired yesterday concerning compact flash cards in order to get an idea as to what brands might be more reliable. However, judging from comments I have seen on this list, it would seem that the brand of card you have may not be the determining factor. Random data loss seems to happen to individuals, and if you haven't experienced it, you are fortunate.
