Here's a suggestion, even though I don't have 6.1. I do have Earthlink. Try putting in the SMTP:
mail.earthlink.net Again, I don't know if it will work, but at least it's worth a try. It took 10 minutes to download 11 E-mail, and took almost five minutes for her to send a test message to me. Any ideas how I can help her get E-mail faster? When I entered the smtp server as auth.earthlink.net, nothing happened. When we changed it back to smtp.earthlink.net we could at least do the E-mail, though it was really slow.
