Hi Susie,

You shouldn't have a problem doing a free database while mail is in your inbox.
I'd exit the email program first though. Also, you might want to empty the
trash after you've read for a while as that can speed things up too.

Finally, sometimes a plain reset can improve speed.

None of these seem to work consistently, but quite often at least one of them
will help.

Yesterday I downloaded 250 e-mails into my BrailleNote (without a hitch,
which surprised me.) When I started to go through them and have found
things to be pretty sluggish, especially when moving an e-mail to
another folder. Will it help to free database space at this point? I
always free space after an e-mail session, but have never done it before
or during. Will anything get messed up or, worse, lost?

Thanks.

Susie
