Yes, the dots seem a little bit higher, and they are easier to read. The
cursor routing buttons are made of a different material, I'm not sure
exactly what, and the operation of the thumb keys is quieter, as is the
sound of the keys when one is writing. I have had my older unit since 2001
and I have had no repair problems at all, and the new unit is proving to be
just as stable.

Subject: [Braillenote] New vs. Old
Karen and list,
How does the Braille display on the newer BN compare to those on older
units? Are the dots crisper and easier to read? Are the cursor routing
buttons made of a different rubberized material? Finally, are the Perkins
style keys larger or smaller than those on older units?
I've had my BrailleNote BT 32 for almost 4 years and it still works like a
charm. Not a single repair problem to date. Given this kind of track
record,
I think I'll hang onto mine. <grin>
