Hi Jane A grade one braille file pretty much is an ascii text file. I'm not understanding what you want from the grade one file that you are not already getting from the ascii file, because uncontracted braille uses the same punctuation etc as an ascii file. You cannot export any file into grade one braille because it is not an option, and, if you choose to export it into a plain braille file, as you have seen, it will correctly be translated into a contracted braille file.
