this is referred to in older parlance as writing macros. these are wonderful
sequences of keystrokes that save time and are very effective.

for example, I had written a macro for my B.N.S. to log events by time and
date and return me to the original file which was invoked by a key chord which
opened the log file date and time stamped it (mor quickly than I could have
typed it) and let me than input whatever text I wanted following it with an e
chord which exited the macro and returned me to the place I was in the original
document.

Later upon opening the log file, I had a neatly organized file by date and time
of the events I had written down. No muss no fuss.

      thank you!

Hi! Just a note to say that I agree with Nancy's comments on how useful it
would be easily and quickly to open files without first selecting the
wordprocessing option.  For a number of years I have had an old Braille 18;
when I am using my BNQT I miss the ease with which I can open or switch between
files on my old machine.
