Hi,

When you copy text using cut and paste, you bypass a lot of the conversion
routines. The same thing would happen if you were to cut text from a word
document on the pc and then open notepad and paste that text into a text file.
You would get all the special characters related to the word format.

When you cut and paste files using activesync, for example, the file is
transferred "as is" or converted depending on the options you set in
activesync.

Also, when cutting and pasting text, you may not pick up all format codes which
tell the receiving document the format of the pasted text.

Hope this makes some sense.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Yesterday I had my Braille Note hooked up to the computer to transfer a file
from the Kurzweil and it worked great. Then I decided to move a file saved as
a
word document to the Braille Note by copying and pasting. Well, it couldn't
convert it to the pocket format. I don't remember the exact error message. So
 I
decided to put the document on a card in the card reader. That worked, and
when I put the card in the BN I could open the file with the book reader.
Any way do you have ideas as to why it couldn't convert the document? Thanks
