My mother was able to get a transformer from Radio Shack that allowed her to
use a BN in the UK, with it's American 110V charger. This item cost her around
$35.
I don't think that's an exorbitant price for an item which allows her to charge
her BN any time and anywhere she wants.

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] BRAILLENOTE BATTERY LIFE???

Thanks, Jim. My sentiments exactly. Pulsedata-Humanware changing my
batteries for me is almost arcane to SENDING FOOD down my throat through a
feeding tube! For me, changing batteries should be extremely simple and
fairly easy. Having said that, I realise that NOT ALL OF US are so daring
in our approaches to anything; for such folks, a shipment to the ends of the
earth is quiet in order.

As an aside, I am saddened that Pulsedata-Humanware DID NOT GIVE ME a choice
between a BrailleNote that has both 110 volts 60HZ and 220 volts 50HZ
electrical voltages and cycles. Meanwhile, on a laptop, the voltage
CONVERTS itself automatically. To purchase a power supply charger for 220V
50HZ will cost me an arm and a toe!! I suppose a reason for this is partly
because the U.S. branch of the company in its infinite wisdom assumed that I
would never travel, <smile>!! Wish that were true!!

Sincerely,
Olusegun
