Hi Steve, I have also been able to plug my Ethernet CF card into the PCMCIA adapter, instead of the back slot, and it works fine. Maybe this would also work with your GPS unit. I suggested the PCMCIA adapter because it can ride around in your BN or laptop and you need never know it's there. It's just one less piece of hardware you have to "attach", and one less cable. Glad you found my info helpful.

Although I already have my CF card reader/writer and 2 1 gig CF's for my file transfers, I just ordered the PCMCIA adapter. I utilize the GPS V2 with my BN and with the mounted case for the GPS unit, the CF slot is blocked and I have to undo the GPS and serial adapter and remove the case to get at my CF card in the slot. I never even thought about using the PCMCIA card slot for my CF card use. This will save me from constantly taking off the GPS unit and case to have access to my CF card for file transfer to my laptop. Thanks for jarring my noggin and using what the BN already has.
