Ok, try this. Press space with O to go to the options menu. Now press space with I to go into support information mode. Now, press the letter A. You will get either one of two messages. "gauge is accurate" or, "gauge is inaccurate". If you receive an accurate message, I would advise you to contact Humanware for further instructions. If, on the other hand, you receive a "gauge is inaccurate" message, what this indicates is that the 30 per cent reading you are receiving may not be reliable. At this point, you need to flatten your battery and then recharge the unit.

When the BN was returned to me it was at 68 percent. Now at 30 percent it is saying battery is critical. Maybe I got a bad battery? I tried resetting the unit and am still getting the same message. I can still use the unit while the message keeps showing up. I didn't get the battery is low message before the battery is critical message. Any ideas? I'd call tech support but after being on hold for an hour yesterday only to be told they had no explanation for my missing folders I'd prefer not to contact them. Sorry to sound so negative about PDI. It's just that when my unit is returned I expect to not have to return it immediately because of more problems. Oh well life isn't fair. I'd charge it but don't want to screw up the battery.
