Hi Reggie, It sounds like at least part of your problem is that the signal between your modem or router and the braillenote is weak.
If your router or modem has an antenna on it, make sure it is in the vertical position. Also, where is your router located physically? Try to have it positioned where it is clear of cables and surrounding items such as your computer or monitor. I have a desk with a high shelf for stacking books etc., and put my router up there as the cables will reach okay. I get much better signal coverage this way. This is really import for wireless connectivity do to the radio frequencies used. One thing you can check to see how the signal is doing is to go into the options menu and the connectivity menu. Then, press enter on the item that says something line active connection details. Press enter and you will see the message "active connection details list". Space until you see "signal strength". This will tell you the strength of the signal between the network and your braillenote. The number you see there will be a negative number and it's exact value will vary depending on the wireless card you use, so there's no accurate way to tell you what that number should be, but I'll try to give some general figures. When I connect with the braillenote setting a foot or two from the router I get a number of about -31 or sometimes even less. The smaller the number, the better the signal. If I go into our family room which is a couple of rooms away, I get a number of around -54 or so. If I go outside into the yard I can get a number of -74 or even greater, but I'm still connected. Also, if you get out of range of the network, you should show as not being connected at all. If you can establish that you are getting a good wireless connection, but still have problem accessing the web and/or email, then the problem may lie elsewhere. Hope this gives you something to work with. Don
