Barbara, your friend is confusing apples with oranges.  Let me see if
I can sort things out here.

The BN will indeed read HTML, TXT AND BRF files.  However, it doesn't
read DAISY books too well, I don't think.  I've always downloaded the
BRF books from BookShare.   Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong about
the BN's capabilities to read XML files. 

Now, as far as the four-track stuff from RFB&D, these are sound
recordings.  Indeed they are made on cassettes, and can not be
transferred to the BN in any way.  The BN will read MP3 files,
however, MP3's are files that are on a computer, not audio tape.  

My suggestion would be for your friend to purchase an RFB&D digital
player, either for the computer or a stand-alone unit in addition to
the BN.  As for the cassettes, those can be played on a regular LOC
tape player.  It would be nice if one unit would play all formats, but
it doesn't.
