Hello Folks,

I am in Atlanta at the NFB convention and yesterday I had a chance to get my hands on the BN-PK. It really is quite small able to fit comfortably in a coat pocket or purse. It has only a Braille keyboard and will be sold in only an 18 cell version to keep it small and what Jonathan calls ultra portable. The keys on the unit are much quieter than the BN and the display is also quieter, in fact this same display will soon make its way into the standard BN products as it is also lighter than the current version. The speech is Keynote gold just as the BN and it sounds quite good. For those of you who want a QWERTY keyboard it is possible to attach an external keyboard to the unit through a port on the unit or via blue tooth. It's really quite a nice unit.

Hi, guys. I too want to add my congratulations to PDI for all the hard work they've obviously been doing over the past few months. I do have one question about the BrailleNote PK that I don't remember seeing in the announcement. If it's so teeny tiny, how do you type on it? What kind of keys does it have? And with it's tiny size, what's the speech like? I can't imagine it being very clear with its tiny size. I almost wish I were at one of the conventions to take a look at it, just to say I've seen one. But these are some things I wondered about as I tried to imagine what it would be like.
