when you download a file from bookshare.org it has an extention of .bks. So even though you choose the link for the brf file the file that your downloading needs to be unzipped. Then you have the brf file. You unzip it by using the bookshare unpack tool.

Except I cannot read it. I downloaded it as a brf file. I named the file with a brf extension like I do with the Web Braille books. Does the book still have to be unzipped if it is a brf file and why? This just seems not to make sense. If it is a brf file and the Bn support brf files then why must they need to be unifped? Web Braille files don't have to be unzipped and they are also brf. I guess I should redownload the book? I put the book in my books folder. When I go to read it the BN says bookshare.org > > I'd email Bookshare tech support but I'm not sure they'd know how to help me. I looked at the directions in the user guide and I guess I need to redownload the book and rename its extension? I just don't get it if ! BN support brf files shouldn't they be called brf files? I'm able to log in easier now my email address is being recognized and I was finally able to change my password. > Now if I could just read the book I downloaded to see if Bookshare really is okay or not. > Thanks! > Lisa > > > ___ > To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit > http://list.pulsedata.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote >
