Terry, it usually takes about 15 hours to discharge the battery.  After you do 
that, you can plug it in.  If you need to use it, you still can, but let it 
have a chance to charge some.  When you're at Main Menu, press O chord or 
(function with O, then Space with I, (read with I, then X like you'd be 
exercising the Braille display.
