Installing only PDI's software is the safest thing.  My impression is that PDI 
is running CE windows, because other programs have built in requirements such 
as a monitor.  Now we really don't want to have to lug around big monitors with 
our nice portable units, now do we? In addition, there are few viruses written 
to attack CE windows.  That makes us safer online, see? Those popular windows 
programs are more likely to be attacked by viruses.  At least that's my 
impression.  Check that section of the manual you quoted.  You'll see some of 
what I mean, at least about the overhead.  Hope this helps.
