Stacey,

I did some experimenting with my VN which is running Keysoft 5.1 and here is what I found.

First, there are two dates as you arrow down through the fields of a message when you are in the inbox. The first date you encounter is between the "From" and "To" fields. This may actually be part of the "From" field but is on a seperate line. Anyway, this date I believe is just part of the database and should match the date and time of your BN. Does this date and time appear to be correct on your messages?

The second date is actually in the "Date" field. This date and time is a little more mysterious but appears as though it may come from your outgoing mail server. It does not seem to come from the BN/VN as I changed my time zone on my VN and it had no effect on the time that appears in this message. In fact, I sent email via a different server and had a different time offset.

The next time you check a message from yourself, look at the number which follows the time in the "Date" field. This number is an offset from GMT time and basically is your time zone or at least the time zone where the server is located.

It may be that a PC based email program like Outlook calculates the date and time in a different way so that everyone using a PC to get your mail is seeing the correct date and time while anyone using a BN/VN sees the time that your ISP's server is providing.

Some of the above is speculation but basically, you may not have any control over this issue. Where are you located and who is your service provider?

Paul

Hi Paul,
Very interesting. I notice the date problem when I go down through the fields with my voicenote. I recieve my own posts from the list.
