Hey Doug, Don't worry about sounding dumb because there's no one on this list who is dumber than I am! I can't even find the patience to read the manual! <shesh> Yes, you'll need either a wired or a wireless modem. A wireless if you want wireless connectivity or a wired one if you want dialup. I believe broadband is continuous connectivity. You don't have to dialup. You just start your browser and bingo! You're ready to go! but broadband is expensive! It can cost anywhere from $30 to $100 a month depending upon where you live in North America. For instance, I know in parts of Texas it's $30 and in partsof massachusetts it's a hundred, but it include television as well. You will need an ISP(internet service provider which you have since you're connected here to ask these questions. <smile> now whether you get broadband DSL or dialup will depend upon your needs. If you like downloading lots of files like mp3's and pictures, then you'd probably want broadband. I for instance would and am satisfied with dialup cause I don't do a whole lot of downloading. Well, this should get the ball rolling. Perhaps Rhonda can take it the rest of the way cause she's smarter than I anyway! <smile> have a good day and I hope you get your answers soon. If not, try the manual, there just might be some answers there if one has the patience to mine them! <grin> Isaac
