Hi All, First, before I get to my email issues, and while I'm thinking about it, what is the difference between a 456 reset and the c 1 4 turn off? Now, if this has been answered in the last few days when I've had this not so good cell phone connection, then I do apologize.
Now for my email issue which, by the way, is no longer a problem for me, at least not at this time. Anyway, upon a trip to town with my family for some banking business and to get something to eat, it gave me a chance for a much better cell phone connection. So, I took advantage of it, and downloaded 289 messages. Then, I happily settled down for the evening at home to read them. Now, at this point, the PK told me my battery was at thirty-five percent, I had just freed the email database space, and that I had about five MB free space on the flash disk, even with the 289 email messages. Oh, and those email messages made up about 3.5 MB of the data on the flash disk. I then read fifteen messages, emptied the trash and turned off the PK to do something else with my family. I then turned the PK back on and went to the inbox, I was asked if I wanted to check for new messages, to which I said no. Then, the PK just stayed at that prompt for about five minutes, just as if I had not answered the question, wouldn't respond to the space with h or anything. And, none of the resets would get the PK to take away the prompt. So, finally, I remembered and performed the c 1 4 turn off and turn on. Then, the PK came back up just fine, and all my email was even still there, so I should have left well enough alone and just read my mail. But, finding the above mentioned behavior strange, I decided to send an email to the list explaining what had happened first. So, I finally got connected and got the message that 1 email was being sent. But, after about three minutes without that message changing, and without the PK responding to any other commands including space with h, I did what I had done before with other messages when that had happened, a simple 3 4 reset. But, grin, this time, I got kind of an unpleasant surprise when the PK came back up. For, it acted like a brand new unit, asking me about the English dictionary and creating my email database and all. And, of course all my email and folders I had created on the flash disk were gone. But, looking on the bright side, and much to my great relief, my flash disk was there this time. So, other than losing all my email, most of which I can read from various list archives when I get home, guess things weren't too bad, and nothing that a restore from my CF card didn't fix. But, at least for now, I think I won't put so many email in my PK at one time; or, maybe I'll try the storage card option for storing the email.
