I have a funny story about that. Well, about compact flash and storage card. I was teaching my friend some things on her BN. mostly, she wanted to use the book reader, and we'd gotten her some books off web braille. First, I put my card in, with the PCMII adaptor and tried to access a file I had on there. I got the error, system cannot find the drive. I was perplexed. I took it out of the adaptor and slipped the card into the back slot. Same message when I tried to access a file. I was even more perplexed. In the meantime, my friend and I both bought new compact flash cards. I wanted one with more memory. I tried both of them in her machine, and they didn't work. I was so exasperated. Eventually, I got mine to work and transferred some web braille for her.
After I got home, my friend told me she had called tech support and a very nice person had walked her through the process of reading a book stored on her card. She had written down all the directions and I had her read them to me. I had to laugh so hard at myself. I don't know if it's a difference in my manual or what. I always use the letter S for storage card when switching drives to access something on my card. But her directions said to press C for compact flash card. sure enough it worked. I thought that was very funny and felt quite chagrined that I hadn't thought of it! Anyway, sorry if this was too long for a post, but I thought the story might help someone if they run across this problem someday. Yes, the one on the right would then be called a storage card, and the one in back a compact flash card. ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.pulsedata.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote
