Brian, when one does a normal reset [the one where you only press the reset button while the unit is switched on and at the main menu] after having waited a few seconds on pressing reset, the unit will chime and say something like: "keysoft 5.1 build 19," [or whatever version you are running at the moment] and don't do anything until it has after that announcement, said: "main menu".
