Hi, guys. The problem is the bn should be thought of as a laptop and not a
PDA when used with a cell phone. If you ask someone at Verizon if it will
work with a PDA because you have a braille one, they will tell you no. When
I tried to get my lg4400 to work, one of the first things the verizon tech
and I did was to connect the serial cable to my desktop computer and see if
we could get it to work. That is where we found we needed the string. Once
we had it working from my desktop, all we needed was for someone atPDI to
make it possible for me to put an initialization string into the dialing
setup. Once that was done, we were home free.
So ask them if it will work with a laptop, not a PDA.

Accordint to the folks at Verizon Wireless, that phone won't work with any
PDA, but will work with a laptop, & software which Verizon Wireless
provides. I have an acquaintance, who has a BN, & works as a programmer for
Verizon Wireless, that confirmed this for me. He says the phone does work
nicely with a laptop, & that the software is at least accessible there.
When last I conversed with Verizon Wireless, they promised to be looking
into making PDA accessibility a reality, for all. Whether they were saying
this to get rid of me, or not, is anyone's guess.
