Hello Paul, the explanation for the PK saying that the battery is critical when the card is inserted is because the percentage readings and messages, are generated from the current cell voltage, rather than a gauge as on the BrailleNote.
when you insert a CF card, the current being pulled from the battery will increase, causing a drop in voltage. However, I believe the problem with the BraileNote battery is a different one, which will need to be looked at and possibly can only be resolved with a battery replacement.
