As usual, the manual has all this info, but having actually used it, maybe
experience counts for something.
First, you need to make activesync work, which means connecting the BN to
your PC either by the serial cord, the infrared port, or by network. Once
you can read the names of your BN's files on the PC in Explorer, then it's
time to go to the next step.
Before you can use the sync command on the BN, you have to have Microsoft's
.NET Framework on the PC, which is supposedly on the download site at
Pulsedata.com, but I've never seen it there. You may have to use the PC's
Update facility to install .NET.
After that is done, install the keysync program on the PC. It will ask you
if you want it running all the time, to which I answered "no", but this
means that before you can sync your contacts that you have to run keysync
on the PC. If you have plenty of memory on the PC and don't have many
other things running in the systray of the PC, you can answer "yes" to this
question and you won't have to run keysync before you sync your contacts.
OK, finally, now you're ready to sync your contacts and planner between the
BN and your PC. I know this is quite a bit to accomplish beforehand, but
it's probably worth it.

Hi everyone,
When I upgraded my BN to version five, I also got the PC sync program to
sync my outlook address book with the BN. However, though I downloaded it,
I never installed it. I am about to go on a two week trip, to teach a
friend who just got a new computer, how to use MS word and Outlook and to be
able to use jaws more fully than she does now. anyway, she's considering
purchasing a BN, so I'll be showing off my baby. I will also have full
access to her PC, so I thought I'd probably be checking email everyday.
Anyway, I want to get my outlook contacts into the BN address book. Can
someone give me tips on how to do this after getting the program set up on
my PC? I'd like to take all my contacts with me, but I don't want to have
to enter each of the over 100 records manually into the BN. Feel free to
write me off list, if you like, so as not to clutter up the list, if this is
an old and well covered question. Thanks.
