Oh well, I suspected as much, but thought I'd ask. I know KeyShop--at the
conventions--has a very good reputation for fixing various little problems, so
I'll check before I send it off. At least it's the backspace, and I can still
press the key stub, it's just not quite as pretty as it once was. <Grin>

They had a Braille Note Service Center at csun and no, they couldn't fix my
Braille Note's keyboard. Likely, Sarah you will have to send your machine in
just like I do to get that fixed.
They may do things differently for the ACB And NFB conventions but I know at
csun they were doing things like cleaning Braille Displays. I didn't find
out about batteries as my battery had just been replaced in 2004.

Here's another question to add on to Penny's. Can I get a key replaced on
my BNQT at a convention? The backspace key walked off somewhere and I
wonder if I can avoid sending it off to California.

Thanks,

Sarah

Cleaning, Etc. at Consumer Group Conventions

Dear List,

I understand that Humanware makes it possible for consumers to have their
BNs serviced during the consumer group conventions. I am just hoping that
my BN battery will hang on for that long <smile> - It seems to be in need
of re-charging much more frequently these days than it ever was before,
probably because I'm using the Flash Card so much more frequently.

Anyway, how can I schedule a battery replacement and cleaning of the
braille cells during the ACB convention? How much can I expect to spend
for these services? Is Humanware planning any kind of training session or
update session for BN and/or PK users?

Have you thought about possibly conducting a training session(s) on the GPS
system and how to use it?

Will Humanware bring "spare parts" for purchase, e.g., extra chargers,
replacement carrying cases, etc.?

Thanks so much, for your help, and for such wonderful products.

Penny
