If you figure, as I heard once, that refreshable Braille cells are $125
apiece, and you are going to add 14 of them to make your 18-cell into a
32-cell... Well, there's a figure to start with anyway.

Rhonda;
Check out your statement. I am almost totally sure that an 18 cell
display can be increased to a 32. I am not sure where I heard it but I
think it was Jonathon, maybe in the BN description he sent out. This is
not saying that it would not cost a large hunk to do so.

Hi, Jean, and welcome:

I'll be glad to give you my opinion, and remember that's all it is. If
you are a fast reader, you may want to start out with a 32 cell display.
You couldn't, to my knowledge, convert an 18 cell to a 32. I believe
the 18 cell is just as good as the 32. Many people like more
information on a line, I've never minded using the thumb keys to go to
the next line.

If the Braille display goes out, it's much more costly to fix it, I
believe the price quote is around $100 per cell. Sometimes, in my
opinion, the more you have, the more can go wrong. Remember, these are
just my observations.

Enjoy the list, and again, welcome.
