That's odd; I have a Braille Lite M40 here that I routinely use as a
Braille display for the laptop. Windows XP, and the latest versions of
JAWS and Window-Eyes, and it works in all of them. I agree that I'd
rather have a dedicated Braille display, but not for the reason you
cite.

it can sometimes be difficult to get it to work. For instance, the
