I think the majority of us wants to see the new material at the top and the quoted material at the bottom.
I don't know if the BN does this, but Pine, the good old email program I used in the DOS days, would give you a choice to quote the original message or not to quote it each time you wrote a message and/or replied to someone else's message. Outlook Express makes you choose to quote original messages or not quote them, but it doesn't give you the choice every time you write a message. I like having choices. A good many messages don't need to have the original messages quoted, but others do. When I tried to use the digest mode of the BN's list, I found it tedious because message after message was quoted. It was difficult to find the new text. After I have posted this message, I'm going to set OE not to quote original messages. If I think you need a reminder, I'll say something in the text. As far as I can tell, Email messages, like so many other things are in the eye of the beholder. Some people like to have the original message at the top, some don't. In my pinion, when I am reading Email with a PC, I don't mind skipping quickly past the original, but when reading with my BrailleNote, I would rather have the new information at the top of the message and then scroll down only if I need to brush up on the original. : I hope this makes some sense and isn't too confusing. : : Sarah : : -----Original Message----- : From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] : [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of rhonda clark : Sent: Monday, August 09, 2004 4:22 PM : To: Braillenote List : Subject: re: [Braillenote] message lay-out. : : : Hi, it's Rhonda with a grin, grin! I made this same comment last week. My reason for the comment was that there is no way to tell where one message ends, and the other begins. If I don't recall the previous message, I would rather scan down to find it, but since I do remember, I'd rather see the new messages first. Most of us who regularly check the list can surely remember the original and it's obviously very time-consuming to have to wade through messages more than once. Surely, if it is thought necessary to repeat a message for those who might not have picked it up the first time, it should be placed after the information being given. What do you think? Am I in a minority in having other things to deal with as well as the list.
