Hi Nancy,

For your Braille display, you might want to try cleaning it with a warm, damp
cloth. Also, you may want to try going into the Support Information Mode
([SPACE with O], [FUNCTION with O] followed by [SPACE with I], [READ with I])
and pressing X to exercise the Braille display a little bit; use the PREVIOUS
thumb key to slow down or the NEXT thumb key to speed up the rate at which the
Braille display cycles, and use [SPACE with E], [ESCAPE] to exit it. After the
cleaning and exercising, your display should look better.

With regards to Web Braille, the SPACE and BACKSPACE keys are used to go back
and forth between links. The [SPACE with dots 1-3], [SHIFT with TAB] and SPACE
with dots 4-6 [TAB] commands take you to the previous and next (the command for
current is [SPACE with X], [READ with X]) element of your choice; to choose the
element these commands move by, press [SPACE with T], [READ with C]. After the
[SPACE with T], [READ with C] command is executed, you can press L for link, I
for Input Control (edit fields, radio buttons, check boxes, combo/list boxes,
buttons), H for heading, or F for frame. Set by default is input control,
which means the [SPACE with dots 1-3, SPACE with X, and SPACE with dots 4-6],
[SHIFT with TAB, READ with X, and TAB] commands move you from one input control
to the next by default (unless you change it to another element). Also, you
can use the PREVIOUS and NEXT thumb keys to move back and forward through page
elements (input controls or links), meaning that you will encounter the links
and input controls as they appear on the page, as opposed to setting the type
of element you wanted the thumb keys to move by. FYI, if you ever needed to
place your cursor on a link without activating it, hold down the PREVIOUS thumb
key while pressing and releasing a touch cursor button that corresponds with a
cell of the display which is occupied by the link title. When you reach an
edit field, type in the text (in Computer Braille if using a BT, and you don't
need to press ENTER before typing in the text).

HTH,
Maria

>Hi. Thanks to many wonderful people like Diane, Maria, Karen, etc. I turn on
>my new Braille Note all the time, but I'd still like a quiet reminder of
>what's happening with my appointments. Might this be possible. God forbid I
>must go to the appointment menu and look, grin.
>I'm finding a dot or two taking over what I'm writing inthe display. I keep
>having to push these dots down with my finger. What's this all about, and
>what can I do about it? Is there dirt in my display, or what? This has just
>happened recently, and it's very annoying.
>Maria, I've successfully gotten the weather from wunderground, but I think I'm
>having a problem with web braille trying to determine when to space down and
>when to use the 4-6 chord. I have no trouble with Bookshare, the I use Web
>braille on my Pc all the time. I might have to have a practice run with
>someone just to be sure I'm using the form mode properly. It's easy, because
>you don't have to turn on any forms mode, I don't think. I'm embarrassed and
>perplexed. Can one just brouse with Web braille on the Braille Note? I'm sure
>it works fine, and it's one little thing I'm not doing that I'below eventually
>kick myself for, grin. Shanks for your patience. I'm trying to be more

>It would be neat if Pulse Data would write an overview of what will be on 6.0

>updateth I'm glad I already have two Sma's after purchasing my Braille Note.
>I've heard nothing about check manager, Dean or John? Cst make sure there's
>always plenty of money to buy my toys at Pulse Data, grin. Please do
>something for the checkbook Queen and others who find this important. Thanks.
