Brett, I don't know whether you want to call this a trick, but there are
two ways around this that I know of, the first, which I use regularly is
to save, or resave, the relevant file, even a book, [after it has been
unpacked] as a keyword document. There are at least two advantages to
that - it doesn't prompt you to review the options on every opening and
it's said to be a more reliable way of storage relating to corruption
purposes and you can in any way easily transfer it to a different type
of document on the fly when sending as an attachment.

The second method would be to open the non-keysoft document with keyword
and manually insert numbers up to infinity where you wish to mark. In
stead of using the jump to place marker command, you then use the find
command, forward or back, to locate your particular place marker,
irrespectively of whether you thereafter read the book with book reader
or key word. if you wish, you could remove them again with the regular
delete function from within key word.

Regards
Riana

Terry, or others,

Currently you cannot create place markers in other types of files other
than keysoft documents. This is particularly anoying as you suggest
with a hymnal but also for book share downloaded books.

Is there a trick or solution to this shortcoming in the works?

      thank you!

Dear Jonathan,

I like the way the online manual works. I only wish there was a way to
make
electronic indexes for my personal projects, such as a hymn book.

: Hi Lisa, did you know that the full manual is available in KeyWord
format
: on the KeySoft System Disk? In that way you can open it using the Book
: Reader and use the find command.
