Hi all. This message noted below is were I get confused. I also read this message that Jonathan sent. I am only three hours a way from the humanware office so figured I might get lucky enough to receive my 6.1 by January 31. Now, it appears from another message that Jonathan sent that they weren't even shipped from New Zealand until January 31 and the folks at humanware don't even see us getting them until late February or March. Then, today on the list, we have a user who thinks she got 6.1 with a 5.1 cd. I am pretty sure that what she got was 5.1 and not 6.1, but I sure wish PDI would let us know a little more about what is actually going on now that we are supposedly in the distribution phase. Sometimes, I think getting a little information is worse than getting no information at all. At least bn owners who are not on this list don't even have a clue as to if or when they will get the upgrade other than the rumors they may or may not have heard. It's a real roller coaster around here and I don't like roller coasters as much as I used to<grin>.

This is the message that Jonathan sent to the list. I went to the link he provided and it works fine.

Subject: [Braillenote] The Release of KeySoft 6.1

Hello everyone. Many of our more observant customers have already noticed
that there are signals that the release of KeySoft 6.1 is now very close.
In fact, the development of the software is finished and we are now moving
into the production and distribution phase. We anticipate that by 31
January, some customers will be receiving their KeySoft 6.1 upgrade on a
compact flash card. Demand for this most exciting release ever of KeySoft
is exceptionally high, so thanks for your patience as we ship the upgrades
over the next few weeks. I'd like to take some time now to explain how the
process will work.

Customers who have purchased KeySoft 6.1 will receive the upgrade in the
mail on a compact flash card. This upgrade will then need to be activated
for your particular BrailleNote, with the use of a product key which you
will soon be able to download from our Software Distribution web site.
This process ensures that we can get the upgrade to you in a more timely
manner than would otherwise have been possible. Customers will be given
full instructions which are available in hardcopy Braille, print and on
the compact flash card itself, as well as on-line, that talks you through
the entire process from obtaining the key right through to finding
yourself running the new version of KeySoft. The upgrade will convert your
existing databases to a new format, install the Windows CE 4.2 operating
system, then KeySoft 6.1. The upgrade provides audible and Braille
feedback throughout the entire process, which may take around half an hour
to complete.

Please note that some customers may have seen the KeySoft 6.1 product key
available to them for a period over the weekend as we test our processes.
We've now disabled this availability again but will advise when you may
once again pick up a product key, and confirm that the information about
your SMA count is correct.

We've established a home on the web for all things 6.1, and this is at
http://www.pulsedata.com/6_1

We're as delighted as you that the software is now finished and we are
moving into the distribution phase. As always, please contact us at Pulse
Data if we can provide further information. Thanks for your ongoing
support. For those of you on our BrailleNote discussion list, I am
presently travelling in the United States and Britain, but will endeavour
to provide you with timely responses as travel commitments and Internet
connectivity permit.
