Thanks, Don. I still haven't found how to get to my router through
Internet Explorer, as I don't see anything router-related to click on (as
you'll see from a subsequent message). I'll keep looking.

A -27 dbm signal is good, and that probably idicates you're connected okay.
If you go into file manager press d and you should get a drive list. You
should see something there called network drive.
Don't worry about that now though as you only have to fool with it if you
actually want to access your computer hard drive.
When you try to access the net or email, you will first be asked what
connection you want to use. Make sure you specify the name of the wireless
configuration you set up. BTW, it sounds like you set it up correctly.
Next you'll be asked for the account you want to use and that would be the
one you set up in your directory of accounts. This latter is for email
only of
course.
If you still have trouble connecting or actually getting to the web, you
might want to do a hard reset and see if that helps.
Also, I assume you are logging onto the net either via your modem or in
the router and not on the pc itself.
In other words, if you have two computers connected to the router, they
should both be able to be online at the same time.
For testing purposes and until you do get connected to the net, I'd make
sure that wireless security is turned off in your router.
Once you have connected once or twice, and you know the connection is
okay, you can then set up any security you want on your router and then match
thaose settings on your bn.
Which linksys router do you have? I have the linksys wireless-g broadband
router here.
The router configuration is really quite accessible and you use internet
explorer on your pc to get to it but you most likely know that already.

that refers to). Authentication level is 0. Obtain an ip address
automatically is yes. Use a proxy server for this connection is no.
I read the manual before getting all this stuff and thought I understood
it, and intend to read it again. But not really understanding how wireless
works, I'm not sure what settings I might need to change.
Can anyone help?
