The Department will fix it because it belongs to their loaner pool. It was on loan to the library to make Braille labels. Even though this isn't their current product, it's new enough so the company won't give us much of a problem. Yes, the file system is extremely different from a BrailleNote. The two notetakers have very little in common, other than the refreshable Braille display. I'll say no more on that subject, I've heard it's a bad idea to discuss the competition on-list.
