Hi, Don. Are you sure that there are folders on your drive that ar shared? Normally, only two folders are shared without your intervention. One is shared docs and the other, I think, is shared pictures. So, my network places might say Don's shared documents and Don's shared pictures. In my case, my wife and I also chare our D drives with each other. That is where the music and audio books, etc are.

Vicky,

Thanks for your comments. I did essentially what you did but got an error message and can't seem to connect to my c drive at all, even though I can connect just fine through the network to the internet. Something seems to be locking me out. Probably some setting somewhere in xp home.

Hi Don and All,

Well, I can't say that I understand all this, either. But, using the PK
here is what I did to get to the SharedDocs folder on my PC; and, yes, grin,
I'm sure it is probably the long and repetitive way around things. First, I
went
to the options/connectivity menu and turned wireless on, and told it to
reconnect using existing configurations. Then, I pressed backspace and
enter with w to get to the folder name prompt. Then, I hit the backspace to
get to the drive list, and then spaced down to network and pressed enter.
Then, at the network place prompt, I pressed the space bar to get to browse
entire network and pressed enter. Then, at the network server prompt, I
entered the name of the computer to which I wanted to connect and pressed
enter. Then, at the network folder prompt, I hit the space bar and got the
prompt of network server user name, so I entered my SBC user name and
pressed enter. Then, at the password prompt, I entered my SBC password and
pressed enter. I also told it to update the current logon information and
then pressed e chord to exit the dialogue, but I then answered no to saving
my network password on the device.

Paul,

Did you have to set up another login account on your machine? Just
wondering what you did with the user name and password.

I set up a separate account on my xp home machine, but sure can't log into
it.

Hi. When I tried typing in family into the domain name, the bn didn't like
that. What I eventually did was to type in Paul into the server name. That
is my computer's name. However, I think that family remained in the domain
name. I never could get it to stay deleted. I did finally get things
working and even opened a word document, spellchecked it a saved it back to
my D drive. Pretty neat.
