Well, this is interesting. I've wondered about activesync and the card reader. it does seem as though the reader would be quicker. thanks for the reply. I have a card reader and will hook it up as soon as I can.

Oh, I got a card reader that connects to my PC with a USB cable. It's a
sync. I got this type because I knew I'd need to do a lot of transferring
between the BN and the PC, and I hate using the active sync method. much
faster and easier this way. But I've got to read up on
reading web braille on the BN. i've either read it on the PC with jaws or
translated it with duxbury and embossed. So this will be new.

Yes, be sure to use the html download options as opposed to the ascii when
downloading or reading the books online. It's easier. I had the devil of a
time learning how to get web-braille books. How do you plan to get them on
the flash card? Ive got a flashcard reader but I don't have the computer
set up et. that is the new computer.

Well, i've never tried web braille on the BN, but I'm going to try to get

book or two, transfer it to my flash card, then load it onto the BN and
see
what happens. The friend I'm going to visit is considering buying a BN,
so
I want to be able to show her how she can read books on it. so, it's
motivating me to try things I haven't bothered to do yet. Wish me luck.

You probably won't be listening to any mp3s either. (Grin) Let's see
now,
how do I turn this thing on? (Grin again)
The last time I flew, not only was it great to have all my books in
Braille,
but all my mp3s to listen to as well. And then there was the annoyance of
not having any alcoholic beverages at all served on the plane. I didn't
care, but the person behind me was whining the whole time about how
nervous
she was and how much she wished for something to read to distract her from
plane panic. Lucky me, I had my BrailleNote.

Sherry,
I'll settle for two double whiskey sours! I'll be fast asleep then. I
won't be able to read the web-braille. <grin>

Me either, but there isn't any other way, so I have to. I'm hoping to
try
getting some web braille and trying my hand at transferring it to the BN
to
try to distract myself. My guide dog doesn't like flying either, so
taking
care of her helps to keep me from being nervous. And if I can read or
listen to some music, I'll be even better. that and a nice glass of red
wine. Or two. grin.

Hi all,

Recently, we discussed flying with the BN. I'm going on a trip next
week,
and I'm planning to take some MP3 files on my flash memory card. This
is
probably a dumb question, but will the x-ray process damage it in
anyway?
Thanks.
