The key word here is "required".
If computer Braille is "required", that means you have to use it,
otherwise they might have said, "Use computer Braille if you like".

You can use both slots. I'm certain you didn't damage your CF slot.

Sometimes it doesn't say "card inserted" every time you insert a card.
I
know it should, but it doesn't all the time. Try going into the file
manager and see if it sees your flash card. If it does you should be
good
to go. Try connecting with your Ethernet card and see what happens.
Oh, and which slot are you using, the one on the right or the one on the
back?

Exactly. All you should have to do is go into the Directory of Services
and
input your user names and password, POP3 and SMTP information, and tell
the
BN to use a network connection for the modem. The manual explains all
this
much more clearly than I can, look in Appendix D.

and
i should be able to go on the web and get e mail through the ethernet?
without configuring anything?

Will,

Try pressing the reset button, waiting for the chime, then inserting
your
Ethernet card. It should say "card inserted", and then everything
should
work automatically.

What seems to be the problem with your Ethernet card? I use mine all
the
time for Email and web browsing, and I don't have to worry at all about
ActiveSync. I'll help you if I can.

Well if you in fact have a Pac Mate, you may be writing to the incorrect
list. (smile)

hi dean

i asked this question but got no response, grins
rather than use my cell phone as a modem to connect to my e mail
provider,
can i:
1. connect my pac mate to activesync via infrared
2. download my e mail that way
my ethernet card dont work for some reason i thought the process would
be
automatic, i think i got wrong card.
it ashame braille note wasnt usb as not everyone has serial nowadays
does
the newer motherboard have usb or something?
and how do i know if i have latest motherboard?
thanks, will
