Hey Jim,
If I'm not mistaken, the "safe" plastics are #1 and #2, as identified in the
recycling triangle logo, but I'll check around.  I pulled my reservoir, and
it has no triangle on it, and says on the side:
"Per Alimenti
Made In Italy
CE"

A quick translation on iGoogle gives "food", so I'm assuming this means "for
food", i.e. food-grade.

However, since all the bad plastics were also considered food grade, I'm not
sure this answers the question.

Ira did a conversion some time back, where he replaced the reservoir with a
clear plastic one.  His purpose was to put in a float without destroying the
original reservoir, but it might give you some ideas on options for yours.
If you find the perfect container, let me know!  Look in the files section
of this group, under Ira's Brutus-2.zip.
