It's funny, Ritual gets so much attention, but none of the folks I really trust for espresso opinions will go there anymore. The last time I was there, my friend and I both essentially handed the barista back our unfinished espressos and left (we considered asking them to remake them, but the line was epic and, well, they had their chance (the shots were flat out terrible, so one could argue something went wrong, but if both were so bad...). Four Barrel makes really good drinks too, I just prefer Blue Bottle's coffee/roast/beans (although you can't get a maple bacon donut at BB, but you can at FB ;-)
