Actually "my side of the world" is Glebe and I buy my coffee from Toby's, Single Origin, Campos, and Mecca. :) But you're correct in spirit. I lived in the Bay Area for long enough to remember Peet's original store, and I agree with the other replies the Blue Bottle, and particular the little storefront on Linden is the best. Ritual is fine, but on my last visit I thought Four Barrel was just as good as Ritual (but not as good as BB.) On the other hand, avoid the BB Cafe in the financial district.
