Mike,FYI, when the lever is in the down position and you get water leakingĀ
through the shower screen or the bottom blow of tube then the seal in the top
of the brew group is leaking by. Access it by removing the large nut on the
brew group and pull out the spring and then the long brass rod that you will
see, near the bottom of this brass rod you will see what looks like a brass
disc. On the bottom of this disc is the rubber seal, check it and the brass
part of the brew group that it seats against.Yes, a total cleaning is a great
idea. My guess is that the shower screen is also plugged and that is why water
was leaking through the blow off tube and not the shower screen when the
machine is siting idle and hot.Hope this helps.ToddWhole Latte LoveTodd and
Doc,Thanks for the replies. Both of your comments make sense. Now that Ithink
about it, a leak in the E61 group sounds logical based on mysymptoms. I'll
tear that down and clean-up/repair/replace asappropriate. As for the P-stat,
I'll plan to order 2...1 to replacethe current one, and 1 so that I'll have a
spare on hand. I doregular back flushes, but I've never gone so far as to pull
the "guts"of the E61 and inspect/clean them. After 30 months of use,
that'sprobably not a bad idea. As for 24/7 ops...its more like 9 hrs/5 daysa
week for my machine. Personally, looking at the quality of theparts in the
Brewtus, I'd think it could hack that kind of"punishment". You are right about
the energy consumption though. Ineed to figure out some kind of a timer that
will have everything upto temp before I get up in the AM and then again before
I come homefrom work. Does anyone have any recommended timers that have
workedfor them?Sincerely,Mike-- You received this message because you are
