Hey Todd. I called you yesterday but you were out of town. The last time I wrote you was to let you know that my brew boiler mas leaking and you told me that might be on luck if the thread sealant used on the element was NOT a lock tight one like the one it is currently beig used by Expobar.
Well, I managed to take the element out and waited for you email to let me know whick thread sealant would be the right one. I went to the forums and user recemmend me Loctite 567 which is a sealant usable for high temperatures and is food safe, I apllied it according to the instructions and let it cure for 3 days. Well, the leak stopped for 3 months..... then the nightmare was back. I re applied the product one week ago, but this time in addition to the sealant, I used teflon tape were the gasket should be and everything seems fine. However I have no idea how long will this fix last. I do not understand why Expobar's elements do not come with a teflon gasket.... I wonder if you can find out which is the right food safe thread sealant to have it handy and please provide me with descaling instructions. I have waited too long for them. Thanks in advance, Mario ________________________________ From: Todd Salzman <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thu, June 3, 2010 10:54:20 AM Subject: Re: todd help It sounds to me like the "Infusion Valve" should be replaced. It is the long plunger that is in blow off tube under the brew group. They wear down and can cause this. Part number: 520229. We do have them in stock. Hope this helps.
