I spoke with Todd today. (I've been really impressed by and thankful for WLL's service!) He gave me these instructions that worked well for me. Notice when facing the machine there are two nuts (big and bigger) stacked at the top of the E61 grouphead. Unscrew the larger of the two and remove it. (Careful because if the machine is still hot it's under pressure and hot water will want to gush out!) There is a spring and two other metal objects in there that you should remove. Next, invert the machine over your sink. Lots of water will pour out. Put it all back together and then let it refill with water. I repeated this process and finally the water ran clear.
