hello, one sales point or feature i like about the brewtus is the
footprint. in my particular setup, to access the water supply and drain i'm
setup between two appliances, on a table 25" wide in a 30" wide space. i
have a chair to sit upon too. a lot of other double boiler machines are
considerably wider and wouldn't be able to accomodate my versalab grinder
next to the machine.
when i bought my B1 i had none of this in mind, but am really glad i had
the size working for me - you can't beat plumbin in and out. never wash a
reservoir or supply hose again. - Dennis

Subject: Conversion of a Vib B-II to a Rotary PID

The Brewtus in any configuration is a great machine. I've had mine since
2006. Since the purchase of my machine, I've always wanted my machine
plumbed in and driven by a rotary pump. After the hassle of having to
replace the original brew controller last year, I've been planning the
upgrade to a PID controller.

So last winter, I replaced the vib motor with the rotary motor kit from WWL,
and plumbed in the machine to my water supply. This past weekend I replaced
the original AKO brew controller with the GICAR PID controller. In both
cases, the installations took about an hour and were pretty straightforward.

>From a drink quality standpoint, I really can't tell a difference, but, I
really do enjoy the quite rotary motor. No more rattling drip tray, no more
running out of water. And I'm hoping that by replacing the brew controller,
I've eliminated E1 failures due to a shorted temperature sensor.

Point of the post is that regardless of the configuration you own, you do
have options to upgrade or update. Remember, Brewtus's never die they just
brew away.
